Quiz\u00e1s hayas intentado quit\u00e1rselo. Quiz\u00e1s hayan tenido esa discusi\u00f3n una y otra vez. Las investigaciones dejan claro que las prohibiciones absolutas rara vez funcionan a largo plazo, pero quedarse de brazos cruzados tampoco es la soluci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>Lo que s\u00ed respaldan las pruebas es una estructura coherente y razonable. En Three Rivers Therapy, trabajamos a diario con familias que intentan establecer l\u00edmites que realmente se cumplan. A continuaci\u00f3n, te presentamos cuatro reglas basadas en investigaciones de instituciones de prestigio, lo suficientemente pr\u00e1cticas como para ponerlas en pr\u00e1ctica esta misma semana.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>4 reglas que puedes empezar a aplicar hoy mismo<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2611 Regla n.\u00ba 1: Por la noche, nada de tel\u00e9fonos en el dormitorio.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Establezca una hora fija todas las noches. Le sugerimos que, entre 30 y 60 minutos antes de acostarse, todos los dispositivos se coloquen en una estaci\u00f3n de carga com\u00fan fuera del dormitorio. Esto se aplica a todos los miembros de la familia, incluidos los padres.<\/p>\n<p>Por qu\u00e9 funciona: Tanto la Academia Estadounidense de Medicina del Sue\u00f1o como un estudio publicado en PLOS ONE en 2023 relacionan la ausencia de tel\u00e9fonos m\u00f3viles en los dormitorios con un inicio m\u00e1s r\u00e1pido del sue\u00f1o y una calidad del sue\u00f1o significativamente mejor en los adolescentes. La falta de sue\u00f1o es uno de los factores que mejor predicen la ansiedad y la depresi\u00f3n en los adolescentes, y uno de los m\u00e1s f\u00e1ciles de corregir.<\/p>\n<p><em>Fuente: Academia Estadounidense de Medicina del Sue\u00f1o; PLOS ONE (2023)<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2611 Regla 2: Establece un l\u00edmite de tiempo diario, y trata de que sean 30 minutos.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Utiliza las herramientas integradas de control del tiempo de pantalla (Tiempo de pantalla en el iPhone, Bienestar digital en Android) para establecer l\u00edmites diarios de uso de las redes sociales. Involucra a tu hijo en la elecci\u00f3n de los l\u00edmites. Los l\u00edmites que los adolescentes ayudan a elegir suelen respetarse m\u00e1s.<\/p>\n<p>Por qu\u00e9 funciona: Un estudio de 2024 publicado en JAMA Pediatrics revel\u00f3 que, cuando los adolescentes reduc\u00edan el uso de las redes sociales a unos 30 minutos al d\u00eda, mostraban una disminuci\u00f3n apreciable de los s\u00edntomas de depresi\u00f3n y ansiedad en tan solo tres semanas. No hace falta que las elimines por completo. Basta con reducir su uso.<\/p>\n<p><em>Fuente: JAMA Pediatrics (2024)<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2611 Regla n.\u00ba 3: Mant\u00e9n las comidas libres de tel\u00e9fonos.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Establece que todas las comidas familiares sean sin dispositivos para todos los que est\u00e9n en la mesa. Empieza por la cena si te parece demasiado hacerlo en todas las comidas. Incluso una sola comida compartida al d\u00eda sin tel\u00e9fonos marca la diferencia.<\/p>\n<p>Por qu\u00e9 funciona: Una investigaci\u00f3n publicada en la revista *Journal of Experimental Social Psychology* revel\u00f3 que la mera presencia de un tel\u00e9fono sobre la mesa, aunque no se toque, reduce la calidad de la conversaci\u00f3n cara a cara y la sensaci\u00f3n de conexi\u00f3n social. El objetivo no es controlarlo, sino entenderlo. De vez en cuando, revisen juntos su feed y hazle preguntas sinceras: \u201c\u00bfC\u00f3mo te hace sentir esta cuenta?\u201d o \u201c\u00bfEsta persona es un amigo de verdad?\u201d.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Por qu\u00e9 funciona: Un metaan\u00e1lisis de 141 estudios publicado en la revista *Journal of Computer-Mediated Communication* revel\u00f3 que el desplazamiento pasivo (mirar sin interactuar) se asocia significativamente m\u00e1s con la depresi\u00f3n y la soledad que la participaci\u00f3n activa, como enviar mensajes o comentar con personas que tu hijo adolescente conoce realmente. Lo que las investigaciones demuestran de manera consistente es que una estructura predecible, incluso una imperfecta, les brinda a los adolescentes un marco contra el cual pueden rebelarse, que pueden interiorizar y que, con el tiempo, podr\u00e1n regular por s\u00ed mismos.
